MeTech Holdings (CEO Chan-Mok Park, hereinafter MeTech), a startup company who is specialized in livestock methane gas research announced on March 7 that they acquired a 51% stake in ULikeKorea (CEO Hee-Jin Kim, hereinafter ULikeKorea) which is a company specialized in digital livestock company and gained management rights.
Due to acquisition of UlikeKorea’s management rights, Metech will now able to also target huge livestock healthcare and low-carbon market in global livestock industry such as Brazil, United States, Denmark, and Australia. This will access ULikeKorea’s 30 patents and distribute Metech’s world-first developed ‘Methane Capsule’ and ‘Livecare Capsule’. Metech will be also gaining 1.3 billion bio-data of livestock.
UlikeKorea is a specialized livestock healthcare company that developed Korea’s first oral administration IoT bio-capsule, ‘Livecare.’ It has been distributed to 8 countries and the livestock healthcare platform collects accurate bio-information without the influence of the external environment. As the capsule is injected directly into the cattle’s rumen and analyze the data with artificial intelligence (AI), and provide real-time health management services.
Metech has successfully developed the world first device (Methane Capsule) which is capable of measuring (detecting) methane gas (CH4) which is generated inside the stomach of cattle. We have also successfully developed a methane reduction capsule that reduces methane gas (CH4) which is generated inside the stomach and provides necessary data for low-carbon certification.
Metech Holdings CEO Chan-Mok Park announced, “We have acquired 51% stake of ULikeKorea, and ULikeKorea is already widely known company in domestic and international livestock healthcare history management service by using biocapsule ‘Livecare. I am glad that I have become the largest shareholder.
Metech Holdings plans to actively target in US and Brazil (South American) markets by collaborating with UlikeKorea, and is also developing with the application of a livestock history management system by targeting over 1 million head of cattle as part of the Green Seal Program promoted by the Brazil Lula government. Metech Holdings will also actively prepare for Series A investment within the first half of this year.
MeTech recently signed a contract worth $1.85 million (approximately 2.7 billion Korean won) with JMB North America in the United States for a ‘low-carbon project’ utilizing methane capsules. The company is also conducting livestock low-carbon business with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), a U.S. federal government agency, and EMBRAPA, a Brazilian government agency. Metech Holdings subsidiaries include K-Cow, a company specialized in low-carbon Korean beef (Korean premium domestic beef), low-carbon feed distribution, and fractional investment, as well as a local corporation in São Paulo, Brazil (corporate name: MeTech Brasil LTDA)
Meanwhile, Chan-Mok Park, the CEO of MeTech, who acquired management control by securing a 51% stake in UlikeKorea, is expected to be appointed as a co-representative along with the current CEO Hee-Jin Kim at the upcoming Ulike shareholders’ meeting scheduled for March 31.
