Methane is a key greenhouse gas emitted by livestock farming, with a warming effect 80 times greater than carbon dioxide (GWP20, IPCC AR6).
Reducing methane is one of the most important carbon-neutrality goals in livestock farming.

It is a next-generation reduction solution that breaks down methane directly inside the rumen, aiming to achieve low-carbon livestock farming and carbon neutrality.

It is an IoT device that releases methanotrophs—microbes that oxidize and break down methane—into the rumen.

It leverages the natural metabolic process by which the microbes (methanotrophs) absorb methane and convert it into low-molecular-weight metabolites. This reduces the amount of methane produced in the rumen that is released into the atmosphere.

They are microbes found in nature that use methane as an energy source. MeTech is developing technology to apply these microbes to the rumen environment.

It aims to reduce methane while maintaining farm productivity.

Research to date has confirmed the potential to reduce methane without negatively affecting key productivity indicators such as weight gain and feed efficiency, and on this basis we are proceeding with demonstration and commercialization.
